MuseBlossom is co-developing a credit information screen security solution with Koryo Credit Information, a Korean credit information company. The project applies the invisible watermarking technology behind MuseBlossom Image Defence to on-screen work data, with the goal of tracing leaks that happen when someone photographs a monitor.

The project was reported on October 14, 2026 by IT Biz News and Datanet.

    What is this project?

The project runs under the Public-Private Open Innovation Support Program, hosted by Korea's Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development (KISED), and organized by the Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation. MuseBlossom was selected in the program's 2026 second-round Strategic Challenge (Top-Down) track as the startup partner for a cybersecurity challenge proposed by Koryo Credit Information.

    Item

    Details

    Project title

Joint Development of a Credit Information Screen Security Solution Based on Camera Capture Suppression and Robust Watermarking

    Period

September 2026 to March 2027 (about seven months)

    Technology

    MuseBlossom Image Defence (invisible watermarking)

    Validation

Proof of concept (PoC) on Koryo Credit Information's internal PCs

    Evaluation criteria

Watermark detection rate, screen readability, capture suppression effect

    What is a screen-capture leak?

A screen-capture leak happens when information shown on a monitor leaves the organization as a photo, typically taken with a phone camera. The file itself never moves, so the leak does not pass through the digital channels that DRM and DLP mainly control.

Editing can make it harder. When a captured photo is cropped or rotated, the identifying information in a conventional watermark can be damaged, which limits how far the leak path can be traced.

Why can DRM and DLP alone fall short?

Digital rights management (DRM) and data loss prevention (DLP) are mainly used to control digital paths such as file copying and external transfer. When someone photographs the screen with an external camera, existing systems alone can have difficulty responding. Invisible watermarking addresses a different layer, so it works alongside DRM and DLP rather than replacing them.

    What will the project build?

The project focuses on embedding watermarks in work screens that are hard for the human eye to notice, and on detecting that information even after the screen has been photographed or the image has been edited. The plan is to build a system that detects the watermark in an image found outside the company and traces the leak path using user and screen information.

After the PoC, the partners will also review integration with ERP and SSO systems and the application of security policies based on information sensitivity.

    How will it be validated?

The technology will be tested in a PoC on Koryo Credit Information's internal PCs. The evaluation looks at three things: watermark detection rate, screen readability for employees doing their daily work, and the effect of capture suppression.

    What is MuseBlossom Image Defence?

MuseBlossom Image Defence is an image security solution built on technology that embeds invisible identifying information in images. MuseBlossom has developed technology to detect unauthorized distribution of digital content such as music, images and video, and to protect copyright.

MuseBlossom Contents Defence is listed on the official Conforming Products List of C2PA, the international standard for content provenance and authenticity, in three categories: image, audio and video. MuseBlossom has filed and registered 15 patents in Korea and abroad related to these technologies.

    What comes next?

This partnership applies watermarking technology developed for content protection to a credit information security environment. After validating the technology in a real work setting, MuseBlossom plans to explore expanding its use to other fields that handle sensitive information, including financial institutions and public agencies.

"Traditional security solutions have focused on protecting files. Now it's time to also look at how information displayed on a screen leaves the organization," said Eunsun Cho, CEO of MuseBlossom. "We will validate our technology in Koryo Credit Information's real work environment and help build a security framework that reduces the risk of information leaks through screen capture."

    FAQ

    Can DRM stop screen-capture leaks?

DRM is mainly used to control digital paths such as file copying and external transfer. A phone photo of a monitor can be hard to address with DRM alone, which is the gap this project is designed to cover.

Will an on-screen watermark make work screens harder to read?

Screen readability is one of the PoC's evaluation criteria. The goal is a watermark that is hard for the human eye to notice, and it will be tested in Koryo Credit Information's actual work environment.

Can the technology be used in other industries?

After validation, MuseBlossom plans to explore applying it in other fields that handle sensitive information, such as financial institutions and public agencies.
